Exercise Tips for Older People
1. Consult a Doctor and have a medical examination before you strat exercising
2. Take a graded exercise test before you start.
3. Choose activities that energise the circulatory system
4. Choose exercises that are appropriate for your age and health.
5. Choose things which you enjoy and try to combine fun with exercise
6. Wear loose cloths and footwear
7. Ensure that your clothing is suitable for the temperature, humidity and activity.
8. For walking chose an area free from traffic and noise pollution.
9. Some people gets motivated by walking in shopping malls!
10. Walk only in safe areas and at safe time
11. Find a friend to exercise with you so that you cannot bunk if you have promissed to join!
12. Take time to warm up annd cool down as muscular adaptation is slow for old people
13. When you start, exercising, start slowly and then increase the time and intensity over a period of 30-40 days
14. Ensure that you drink enough water before and during the exercise
